“I treat everyone the same, success is not measured by limits but by your experience. If you return to Blue Roan Bend Outfitters then we had a successful hunt. Limits are always nice but that’s not what its all about. The bonds that are created, and the lasting memories made is what’s important to me.”

Born and raised in Wharton County, Clay Meyer has been an avid and well-versed outdoorsman since the ripe old age of 7 when he tagged three bucks in one hunt. He has been hunting the Texas Gulf Coast for over 60 years and has a wealth of knowledge in both waterfowl, hunting, and fishing. Clay skips no details when making his hunters comfortable and treats all of his customers like family. “If I give you a hard time its because I like you, consider it a compliment!” Not many hunters leave Clay’s blind without a big grin on their face and a story to tell for years to come.
WHO WE ARE
The journey of Blue Roan Bend Outfitters started with a prominent farmer and rancher in the Wharton County back in 1956. Clay Meyer, affectionately called Meme by friends and family, was in search of some lost cattle when he literally stumbled upon Blue Roan Bend Ranch nestled along the banks of the Colorado River. In awe of its beauty and diverse habitat, Meme knew this ranch was a one of a kind so he set out to purchase it. He dedicated the early years of BRBR as a place to raise his cattle and cleared undesirable forestry, which over time created a better habitat for wildlife. Meme’s early vision left a blueprint for the future generations to continue his legacy.
